Dear OSU and OSU Foundation Colleagues,
More than $109M. That’s how much OSU alumni, friends and supporters have contributed to the university since July 1. With our eye on the $126M stretch fundraising goal, we know it is the partnership and collaboration that happens all across campus that will make us successful. It has already been an exciting and historic spring for Oregon State.

Arts & Education Complex
A watershed moment for Oregon State University. That’s what President Ray called the announcement on April 19 of plans for a new arts & education complex on campus. This was followed by word that a $25M anonymous lead gift was launching the project, for which $5M in additional private funds will be raised. Our announcement at the Portland Art Museum highlighted the broad appeal for the arts among our many supporters, and a university-wide celebration of how the arts at OSU intersects with our strengths in science, humanities and technology (as highlighted in the video to the right). It will be a campus-wide effort that sees this project to success – thank you!
In mid-April, we wrapped up three days of workshops on "Optimizing Donor Meetings" with 200 faculty members and Foundation staff. This set of meetings, led by our partners at Advancement Services, was the fourth in a six-part, three-year series of workshops, jointly funded with the Office of the Provost and our eleven academic colleges, and designed to deepen the understanding and appreciation of advancement across the university. Thanks to all who participated for making the sessions so productive.
DocuSign for Gift Agreements!
Using technology to improve and enhance our work is a key area of focus for the Foundation as we prepare for the next fundraising campaign. We recently rolled out use of DocuSign, the electronic signature platform, which will vastly enhance and streamline collection of signatures on documents central to our work, like (major gift) gift agreements (of which more than 300 were signed last year!)
May 3 – State of the University, Bend NEW!
Jun. 10 – Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade Viewing Party, Portland
Jun. 26 – The Partners Group Ossey Golf Scramble, Tualatin
Nov. 16 – President's Dinner, Portland
With two months to go in the fiscal year, our collective focus shifts to closing open gift conversations and meeting (surpassing!) our goals. Thank you.
SHAWN L. SCOVILLE
Executive Vice President
P.S.: OSU Foundation Email – On a final “housekeeping” note, the OSU Foundation has now migrated to a new email system. All OSU Foundation email addresses have moved from the university’s “@oregonstate.edu” extension to the Foundation’s own “@osufoundation.org” extension. Please update your address book.
