OSU Extension puts the university’s land grant mission into action by helping people in communities across the state improve their lives, homes, and environment. Because they are experts in 4-H youth development, food and agriculture, health promotion, coastal issues, and programs for young people, OSU Extension partners are ideal for internships at both the Master of Public Health (MPH) and undergraduate levels. Yet the logistics of a rural internship can create financial challenges for students.
Impact of your contribution
- $1,000: Covers housing or driving expenses for a student commuting to a rural internship location.
- $2,500: Funds a summer internship, such as an MPH student creating and implementing a program evaluation, or an undergraduate student helping to build a community wellness initiative.
- $5,000: Supports an internship that lasts one term plus the summer, which allows the student to engage more deeply in their internship experience.
- $10,000: Makes a widespread impact on rural Oregon communities by supporting four summer interns.
